Started off the morning with a cappuccino and bagel that Leo brought me while I did my blog for yesterday. What a sweet guy!
Leo and I took a walk along the promenade and visited the market upstairs where there were all kinds of cool little booths. I bought some red pepper jelly, sex in a pot jelly (raspberry and chocolate liquer) and "oh my God" jelly (lemon, orange, Grand Marnier and brandy). when you taste it, you really do say "oh my god" LOL
Then we watched the lighting of the cannon. Every day at noon it goes off, and even when you know it's coming, it scares the poop out of you.
After the cannon, we headed for town, the streets are full of flowers, very pretty. We went into one awesome store called "Flying Fish" and it proved to be a bit expensive. The store has a little bit of everything and we found a gorgeous oil on canvas that fits perfectly in our front hall over the stairs. It's 5 feet by 5 feet and considering the size, it was actually quite the bargain. We thought the shipping charges would kll us but it turned out the shipping will be dirt cheap!
We then headed to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things, then back to the boat for lunch. Afterwhich we took Tara and the dinghy over to Newcastle Island. Loved passing all the boats at anchor, especially the old sailing boats.
I love these old sailboats!
On the shores of Newcastle
Back to the dock
When we got back to the boat, we sat on the bridge and listened to some great music playing on the promenade about 50 feet away from us. Some nice guitar and a guy who played some wicked jazz on the electric piano
Just chillin'
Dinner's cookin'
Tomorrow we leave bright and early so we can navigate Dodd Narrows at slack tide. Then on to Thetis Island.
